Bio
Steph Blondet is a visual artist based in Tampa Bay, FL, who creates sculptural paintings that explore form, texture, and the interplay of light and shadow. Known for her tactile surfaces, intuitive use of color, and dimensional compositions, she creates work that shifts and changes depending on the viewer's perspective and the light in a room. Her practice is rooted in a simple but deeply held belief that art should make people happy and that surrounding yourself with beauty and joy is a serious and worthwhile choice.
Blondet began her artistic journey after a health scare in 2021, using creativity as a form of healing and self-expression. Following the loss of her soul dog two years later, she launched her professional art career, channeling her work into tactile, dimensional paintings rooted in joy, nostalgia, connection, and the kind of beauty that stays with you. Her art is a celebration of the little moments that make a life, and the belief that the things you surround yourself with every day should give something back.
Her sculptural paintings have been collected privately in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada. Her work is available through gallery representation and by commission, serving private collectors, interior designers, and art consultants nationally. She works from her studio at Ybor Hive in Tampa's historic Ybor City.
Artist Statement
I make sculptural paintings rooted in a simple but deeply held belief that art should make people happy. Working from my studio in Tampa Bay, I build each piece by hand, layering small, repeated marks of clay, texture, and color onto panels until they accumulate into something larger than any single element. The work is as much about materiality and presence as it is about color and form.
My process is intuitive and unhurried. Compositions emerge through repetition and feeling rather than plan, one hand-formed mark at a time. The clay builds dimension, and that dimension creates shadows that shift and dance throughout the day as the light moves through a room. There is a quiet energy to the work, something that rewards closeness and continued looking.
The marks are the meaning. Little moments of joy, nostalgia, and connection, gathered together and made permanent. Across everything I make, the intention is the same. To create something that earns a permanent place in someone's life and gives something back every day. Whether a piece fills a room with warmth and energy or offers a moment of calm, it is made to be felt before it is understood, and lived with for years, not just seasons.
